EBS
Implementation of Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS)
Dear Customer,
Due to continued volatility in the global markets, partly driven by the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we are experiencing ongoing increases in marine fuel costs and related logistics expenses.
In response, and in line with measures introduced by European ferry operators, FairTrans will implement an Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) to maintain the reliability and continuity of our transport services.
The EBS will take effect from April 1st and will apply to shipments involving short sea routes where ferry transport is included.
The surcharge is introduced to compensate for the significant increase in costs related to marine fuel and ferry operations.
The EBS applies exclusively to road transports that include ferry crossings.
The surcharge will be continuously adjusted in line with changes in bunker surcharges announced by our ferry service providers.
The EBS will be withdrawn once bunker surcharge levels return to those observed in February.
We are closely monitoring market developments and remain in ongoing dialogue with our ferry service providers to ensure stable operations during this period.
Further details regarding the surcharge level will follow shortly. This notice is intended to provide early visibility to support your planning.
We appreciate your understanding and continued cooperation.
If you have any questions or require further information, please feel free to contact your usual FairTrans representative.
Kind regards,
FairTrans
