Subject: Introduction of Dutch Truck Road Charge (Effective 1 July 2026)

Dear Customer,

We would like to inform you that, effective 1 July 2026, the Netherlands has introduced a distance-based road charging system for heavy goods vehicles (Vrachtwagenheffing).

Under the new legislation, both Dutch and foreign trucks in vehicle categories N2 and N3 (over 3.5 tonnes) are required to pay a road charge based on the number of kilometres driven on the designated Dutch road network. This new system replaces the former Eurovignette in the Netherlands.

As a direct consequence of this legislative change, our operating costs for transports involving the Netherlands have increased. Unfortunately, these additional road charge costs are beyond our control and therefore must be passed on to our customers.

From 1 July 2026, the applicable Dutch road charge will therefore be added to our transport invoices as a separate surcharge or incorporated into the agreed freight rate, depending on the transport agreement.

We regret having to introduce this additional cost and appreciate your understanding. This adjustment is necessary to ensure that the mandatory government-imposed road charges are reflected fairly and transparently in our transport pricing.

For detailed information regarding the Dutch Truck Road Charge, please refer to the official Dutch Government websites:

Should you have any questions regarding this change or how it may affect your transport rates, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your understanding and for your continued trust in FairTrans A/S.

Kind regards,

FairTrans A/S
